Many times over the years I have shown the following charts to demonstrate that medical measures were not responsible for vanquishing infectious diseases. The decline in the diseases occurred BEFORE the introduction of the vaccine or chemotherapeutic agent heralded as the savior.
The diminishment of these diseases was most likely due to improved nutrition, better public utilities, and the natural rise in immunity of a population.
In the case of polio, evidence links the rise in the disease to the use of pesticides. Remarkably, although not the cause of the outbreak, polio vaccines can cause the disease. (Adverse Events Associated with Childhood Vaccines--Evidence Bearing on Causality: Institute of Medicine (US) Vaccine Safety Committee)
As usual, it's humans meddling in nature that lies at the root of so many of our problems.
Polio and Pesticides
Although human intervention is often started with good intentions, those motives get overtaken when the profit motive blinds the purveyors to consequences.
On the other hand, respect for nature and its balances, both environmentally and biologically, can result in remarkable resistance and healing.
Consider the essential nutrient magnesium. It's critical to hundreds of enzymatic actions, energy metabolism, and structural integrity. Other benefits include improving calcium absorption and bone health, preventing and ameliorating diabetes, heart disease, migraine headaches, premenstrual syndrome, anxiety, and more.
Most importantly, it moderates oxidative stress, the weapon of infections and their toxins.
Chances are, most of us are deficient.
In acute infections, such as polio, both magnesium and vitamin C levels drop precipitously to combat oxidation and support white blood cell activity. Vitamin C can even attack infectious agents directly via the Fenton reaction.
There is a synergy between magnesium and Vitamin C. However, magnesium chloride alone, given several times a day, has cured polio. (Neveu AP (1958) Traitement cytophylactique des maladies infectieuses par le chlorure de magnésium, la poliomyélite. 3e édition.) High doses of vitamin C alone completely cured 60 cases of polio. (Klenner F: The treatment of poliomyelitis and other virus diseases with vitamin C. Southern Medical Journal 111:209-214.)
Scroll through the following sample case reports from Dr. Auguste Pierre Neveu describing the incredible impact of magnesium chloride on 15 different cases of poliomyelitis, some extremely acute, and some seen several months after the onset of the infection. (Reprinted from orthomolecular.org):
Similar health results have long been reported for virtually every disease and health condition using not only vitamin C and magnesium, but the spectrum of natural nutrients. (For proof, just search any nutrient or disease in the 29 million scientific articles in PubMed.) So, don't assume that eating right (varied organic fruits and vegetables and free-range animal products) and supplementing doesn't have an impact on your health or that more aggressive nutrient targeting and dosing may not even cure the incurable.
Why are such results not shouted from the rooftops? Because there's no money in it for the status quo medical industry and their advertisers. Once ideas are entrenched by the flow of money, it's impossible to overturn them other than through revolution.
You can be that revolution by taking your health into your own hands.
