Trying to block a virus with most masks being worn by the public is like trying to block peas thrown at a tennis net.
That is not to say facemasks do not impact health. Like noise-cancelling earmuffs impede hearing and fogged glasses impede vision, facemasks impede respiratory health. Think about that. Interfering with the very thing that keeps us alive, air, is like murder if it is forced upon us, and suicide if we do it voluntarily.
But since reason doesn't seem to matter when people are in the grip of propagandized fear, perhaps a different tact will wake them up to the ruse. For it is wrong always, everywhere, and for anyone to believe anything on insufficient evidence.
If you ask a mask believer to draw a graph showing the effect of masks on C19 cases and deaths, this is what they would draw.
But notice in the following sampling of graphs showing that C19 increases following the use of masks, it does not decrease.
On the heels of facemask mandates around the world, C19 cases and putative C19 deaths increase. Therefore, using the popular logic that relationship proves causation (you know, like a death and a positive C19 test supposedly proves the death was caused by C19), facemasks must be the cause of increased Covid-19 disease.
You can be sure that if the charts were turned upside down, and mask mandates were followed by a decline in reported cases and deaths, the graphs would be constantly headlined. Not just to bolster the multibillion-dollar facemask industry (projected to be 21 billion within five years), but to justify keeping the population cowering in fear and obediently masked.
As for why the graphs do not show that masks are effective and that increased "cases" and "C19 deaths" are occurring, many things must be considered:
But to mask believers, no logic or facts matter. People are in fear. They feel they must do something (other than getting informed) and masking fills the bill. Public masking is a mere talisman.
Nevertheless, people should be permitted to wear them all they like. For that matter, why not go all the way with a Hazmat Suit, face shield, goggles, gloves, boots, and sterilized liquified meals sucked through a straw sealed through the shield and face mask? That's called freedom and the right to your own body.
For those of us moved by reason and fact, we should be permitted to freely breathe air and not wear masks. That's also called freedom and the right to our own body.
Being aware of the facts regarding masks (their ineffectiveness and dangers) makes me resent being forced to wear them. But I recently experienced some rays of hope. On the door of a bike shop was this sign, "Masks are not required. However, if you wish to wear one and don't have one, we will provide one for you free." In a huge Oak Farms store with thousands of people milling around daily, no masks were required and only about one in thirty wore one.
Freedom is such a simple concept and such a breath of fresh air when it is being ripped away all about us.
Here are appropriate quotes in this time of crises in which mask-wearing has become symbolic of passivity and blind obedience which threatens the foundations of freedom around the world:

And dying in your beds (enslaved) many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take our FREEDOM!”
