Sudden Hearing Loss Recovery with Vitamin C and E Supplementation with tocopherol nicotinate and vitamin C can enhance recovery in patients with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss when used in addition to conventional therapy. It is presumed that the vitamins decrease the level of oxidative stress produced by inner ear ischemia and by reperfusion injury after conventional treatments. Iron Supplementation Beneficial Preoperative
Iron supplementation three times per day during the two weeks before surgery significantly reduces the need for a blood transfusion during surgery. Vitamin D Deficiency Linked to Cavities in Babies Pregnant mothers who are deficient in vitamin D may cause cavities in their babies. Baby teeth begin developing in utero as early as six weeks, and vitamin D is an important factor in development of tooth enamel.
